No reply from Italian model?

I recently got out of a relationship that was going nowhere. I broke it off with my bf and wanted to stay single for a while, though I still miss him, I tried to find a way to distract myself, so I joined this social networking website that only accepts good looking people (I know its shallow). Anyway, I'm traveling abroad to Italy for a month in the summer, and I got in touch with an Italian model and actor. He's done some very important campaigns and local movies, and is maybe the most gorgeous man any woman can dream of! I emailed first saying I was going to his city if he'd like to meet up. He then replied saying he would love to and he can take me to the seaside, etc. He then added me to facebook, I didn't message him first, then he messaged me after I confirmed his friendship. First he told me you are very beautiful and he told me a bunch of things about himself, what he likes to do. He then said he would love to hang out with me when I'm there, show me the city, and wants to do fun and interesting things and not just party. He even mentioned going hiking! He then asked me a couple of questions about myself. I replied the next day, I told him hes also very handsome and on top of it all seems like a very cool and interesting person. I wrote a longer message replying to the things he told me, telling him about myself, and asked him a couple of more questions. It's been 4 days and he hasn't replied back. I feel so foolish, especially for getting worked up over someone I never even met... but it seemed like the perfect summer to be abroad with a handsome gentleman who doesn't just want to party and sleep with me (he wants to do fun and interesting things), and a great way to get over my relationship that ended. So he hasn't replied, though he has changed his status on facebook and I have evidence that he has been online. My best friend told me to wait a bit longer but I feel like I'm just not going to hear from him. Whats your opinion on this situation, what do you think happened? Did I say something wrong in my message? Do I still contact him just before I go saying hey would you still like to meet up, or do I just let it go? Its kind of bugging me. I also know for 100% for certain that hes real.
