Atlantic City or Seaside Heights?

Me and like 10 of my friends were planning on going to Jersey Shore this summer with a couple parents (we're going into 9th grade), and were going to visit New York City for a day. Not knowing that Jersey Shore wasn't a city, I looked at places on jersey shore like Atlantic City and Seaside Heights. Atlantic City looks a lot nicer and has more things to do, but it's farther away from NYC. So should we go to Seaside Heights or Atlantic City? Thanks for answering!
