Are new jersey beaches open for the 2011 season?

I was going to spontaneously take a trip to the beach tomorrow and I decided to check the water temperature and I saw on one website that they are not even open yet, is this true? we were thinking of going to seaside heights or sea isle city I'm hoping to find someone who lives around there because the website information is not very helpful. I did find that seaside opens up Saturday for memorial day but I want to go Friday(tomorrow)!!
